FY2027 Budget Signals — where health-IT money is moving

Deadlines tell you when money is at risk. This tells you where it’s flowing. FY2026 enacted → FY2027 request, straight from the congressional budget justifications. A pursuit riding a growing account is a stronger opening than one riding contract size alone. Dollars in millions.

How to use this page

FY2027 is running on a continuing resolution through December 11, and no full-year bill is law yet. For each pursuit in your pipeline, I would ask three questions:

  1. Is this a new start? Section 104 of the continuing resolution bars any project or activity that did not have funds in FY2026. If your pursuit is a new program, it waits for a full-year appropriation, and December 11 is the earliest that can happen.
  2. Is there a task-order alternative on an existing IDIQ? Task orders against a vehicle the agency already holds obligate against the parent ceiling and do not need new appropriations action. That is the safe ground until the freeze lifts.
  3. What happens to your pursuit if December 11 passes without full-year bills? Another stopgap keeps the freeze running; a lapse stops new work cold. Build both scenarios now and keep a task-order list you can pull forward in January.
