The mechanism by which actual work is issued under IDIQ contracts, GWACs, and BPAs.
Why It Matters
The contract vehicle sets the ceiling and terms; individual task orders specify the scope, period, and funding for each piece of work. Most revenue in federal IT contracting flows through task orders, not the vehicle award itself. Winning the vehicle gets you to the table. Winning task orders pays the bills.
