Why It Matters
Value-based payments enter VA community care for the first time under CCN Next Gen, starting with episode-based payments for joint replacements (hips and knees). At least three more VBP models will be added during the performance period — and future model designs will be proposed by TOPR awardees. The organization that proposes the next cardiac or oncology episode model shapes the contract's economics for its full run.
