IDIQ
Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity. A contract vehicle that sets terms and ceiling but lets the government order as needed via task orders.
Why It Matters
The bread and butter of federal IT procurement. An IDIQ establishes a contract framework (terms, rates, ceiling value) and then individual task orders specify the actual scope and funding for each piece of work. Most revenue in federal IT flows through task orders on IDIQ vehicles, not standalone contracts.
