The VA's electronic health record modernization program, now under Oracle Health (formerly Cerner).
Why It Matters
EHRM is the VA's replacement for VistA. Lifecycle cost estimates range from $37B to $49B. After Michigan's April 2026 go-live, fewer than one in six VA medical centers will be live. Congress withheld 30% of FY2026 funding (~$1.02B) pending three conditions by June 1, 2026. GAO-26-108812 found 16 of 18 prior recommendations unimplemented. The contract expires May 2028; full deployment runs to FY2031.
