Electronic Health Record. The digital medical record system. DoD uses MHS GENESIS (Oracle Health). VA is deploying the same platform.

Why It Matters

The push for a single, common EHR across DoD and VA has been the defining program of federal health IT for over a decade. The technical platform is the same (Oracle Health, formerly Cerner), but the deployment experiences have been dramatically different between DoD and VA.
