National Institutes of Health / NIH IT Acquisition and Assessment Center (NIH / NITAAC)
★ MemberNIH is the country's biomedical research agency. NITAAC is NIH's acquisition center and ran CIO-SP3 / CIO-SP3 SB / CIO-CS, the NIH GWACs that anchored IT procurement across HHS until the June 2026 sunset notice. Treat NIH as both a research buyer and an acquisition channel for the rest of HHS.
The NITAAC GWAC era is ending on a date. On June 9, 2026 NITAAC published notice that the HHS Senior Procurement Executive, under EO 14240 and OMB M-25-31, sunsets CIO-SP3, CIO-SP3 Small Business and CIO-CS on October 29, 2026, the last day to award new orders. Orders awarded on or after June 8, 2026 cannot run past December 31, 2028, when all NITAAC program functions cease. There is no successor: CIO-SP4 was cancelled in January 2026 and the reported CIO-CS follow-on ('The Store') is superseded by the notice. Future NIH and HHS IT requirements move to GSA vehicles (Alliant 3, Polaris, MAS). Treat CIO-SP3 seats as a countdown clock, not a bridge.
